Paul Reed Smith and Carlos Santana have been key allies since the early 1980s, when Santana was given his first hand-built PRS to check out, and provided feedback to Smith. Over the years, that creative partnership had turned out a group of evolved signature instruments, finely tuned to the legendary guitarist's style and needs. The Santana Retro harkens back to that original, "Pre-Factory" design, featuring unique features and elements that helped make that original a mainstay for Santana. From the deeper body carve to the recreation of the original style heel, headstock and nut placement, it's a true homage to that first instrument. The addition of freshly designed Santana signature pickups expands the tonal range and helps create a unique and highly musical voice for a guitar that can sing and cry for you, as it does for the master.
